Flights

Faro airport is the closest airport to the Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura areas. Aer Lingus and Ryanair fly from Cork, Dublin and Shannon to Faro. British Airways, Ryanair, EasyJet, TapAir and Wizz Air fly from London to Faro. We would recommend booking early!

Taxis

Taxis are very easy to arrange in the Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago, Vilamoura and surrounding areas. Uber is probably the best option and is usually reasonably priced to use in the area.

Car rental

If you are staying for more than a few days (particularly in the Quinta do Lago or Vale do Lobo areas) it would be advisable to rent a car as the beaches, restaurants and shops are quite spread out. If staying in a villa, it is likely you will not be within walking distance to the beach. If you don't fancy renting a car, Uber and taxis can easily be used to get around.

Where to stay

We will be staying in Quinta do Lago. Shuttle buses will likely leave from the Quinta do Lago, Vale de Lobo and Vilamoura areas to our wedding venue. Details to be confirmed closer to the wedding date. Our Day 2 event will be held between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.

There are many accommodation options in Vale de Lobo, Quinta do Lago, Vilamoura, Almancil and the surrounding areas. There are also lots of Ubers to get around so stay where is most convenient for you! It can be an expensive time of year so we recommend booking early.

We have arranged a 10% discount in the Dona Filipa Hotel in Vale de Lobo and the Magnolia Hotel in Quinta do Lago - just quote 'Conor and Deborah Wedding July 2024' when booking!

Vilamoura

This is a very popular area and is 30 minutes from Faro airport and 15 - 20 minutes from Quinta do Lago / Vale do Lobo. There are plenty of hotel, apartment and villa options here, particularly at the Marina or in the Old Village. The Tivoli Hotel is particularly nice!

The wedding venue is about a 35 minute drive from Quinta do Lago. Shuttles to the wedding venue will likely depart from the Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura areas and return later that evening.
